Due to a lack of snow, Skijoring the Bear 2026 has been canceled.
We want to sincerely thank everyone for the incredible support of our event—it truly means the world to us.
While the race won’t be happening, we will still be hosting a Skijoring Fundraiser & Social on February 13.
Everyone is invited, and more details will be coming soon!
We can’t wait to see you all there—and we hope to see everyone back for Skijoring the Bear 2027 🐻❄️

PRO/OPEN
$200
The best of the best! Pro/Open teams feature elite skiers and riders paired with the fastest horses on the course. Expect high speed, big air, and serious competition. Pro/Open teams go head-to-head for cash payouts, champion buckles, and other top prizes.
SPORT
$200
Right in the sweet spot between Novice and Pro/Open. Sport teams bring solid skill and plenty of spirit—horses may not be the fastest, and skiers might not be pro-level (yet), but the competition is fierce and fun. Compete for cash payouts, first-place buckles, and other great prizes.
SNOWBOARD
$100
Boarders unite! The Snowboard division is for novice to intermediate snowboarders who want to take on their own course and crew. Compete for cash payouts, first-place buckles, and other prizes, and show the skiers how it’s done.
NOVICE
$150
New to the sport? This is your division! Novice teams are all about learning, laughing, and letting it fly. Horses might not be the fastest and skiers might be new to the game—but everyone’s here to have a blast. All ages welcome! Compete for cash payouts, first-place buckles, and other prizes.
CENTURY
$100
Experience counts! The combined age of the rider and skier must be 100 years or more. This division is for seasoned (or just well-aged!) athletes at the novice to intermediate level. Compete for first-place buckles, other prizes— and bragging rights, of course.
WOMEN’S ONLY
$75
Women bringing the heat! The Women’s division is open to female teams at the novice to intermediate level. These ladies charge hard and compete exclusively against other women for cash payouts, awesome prizes.
TEEN
$50
For the up-and-coming skijorers, ages 13–17. Teen teams go toe-to-toe against their peers for prizes (no cash). If you’re 12 and under, check out Lil’ Buckaroo—and if you’re 18+, step up to Novice or Sport!
LIL’ BUCKAROO
$20
For the little ones, 12 and under! Bring a horse and a buddy to ski or snowboard. The course is simplified and all about fun. It’s the perfect way to get kids involved in skijoring and build confidence on the snow. Goodie bags to ALL that enter! no cash, no buckles. Limited entries.
CUPID RACE
$50
Love is in the air—and on the course! The Cupid Race is for couples only and held exclusively on Valentine’s Day (Feb. 14). Teams race together for fun, laughs, and love-themed prizes. Matching outfits, pink accessories, and heart-shaped flair are highly encouraged! This division is all about fun, not speed, with awards for creativity, teamwork, and style.
